DIY Custom Tufted Headboard

Only three more weeks to go until R E V E A L D A Y, *cue the mini panic attack. While I feel like we put in hours and hours each day, I don’t seem to be able to really cross anything off the “to do” list. Maybe it’s because everything at this point is a multi-step process: tile, grout, seal, caulk etc. They may not be super exciting milestones, but they must get done. Anyway, I’ve got some exciting updates for you this week, and things have finally started to come together !

We came, we tiled, we conquered.

Yes, we finally finished tiling! Who’s idea was it to do a double niche?! That took Mike (yes, let’s be real I am not detail oriented or patient enough to make all those mitered cuts) almost three days to finish. My thought was the double niche would pair well with the double shelf cubbies next to the vanity (see below). Was it worth it? Eh, debatable.

The double cubbies - my version of a modern medicine cabinet - will be lined with white oak (matching the floating vanity) and got sanded down and we applied a top coat. It’s looking gooooood! Next week I should have a completed picture for you.

DIY tufted wool headboard

Lots of goodies are coming in the mail, this week I received a particularly exciting package. My custom tufted wool headboard from Home of Wool arrived all the way from Bulgaria, how cool is that! They sell all kinds of products like mattresses, pillows, play cushions, and of course, can create custom products as well. They worked with me on custom dimensions and were able to sew these beautiful leather loops to secure the headboard to my canopy bed. The organic feel works so well the texture-filled vibe of the space.

Mitzi Bailey Chandelier

I don’t want to give away too much in the bedroom, but here is a teensie glimpse of the Mitzi Bailey Chandelier we installed. I wanted something delicate, but still grand enough to compliment the tall ceilings and this did. not. disappoint.

Also, you can’t miss this freaking stunning, minimal Legrand Touch Switch. I mean, all of their stuff is beautiful but this little touch switch makes me feel straight up bougie when I’m walking down the hallway, turning off the light in my oversized pj’s, glasses and retainer. It’s pretty freaking cool and claaaassssy.

Coming up N E X T

Week 6 we got some big plans. Quartz countertop going in, plumber hopefully shows up to install our wall mount faucets and shower fixture. And then a big project that includes some custom fluting - I’m not sure how I’m going to pull this one off, but I gotta!

Thanks for following along, and don’t forget to check out the other Featured Designers below! There are so many beautiful spaces coming together, and all the Guest Participants have got some great progress too, I’m feeling so inspired and motivated to keep going!
